Vila Thai-Excellent Thai in Tucson's Main Gate Square
I
lived in Seattle for 7 years before moving to Tucson
and one of the few complaints I have had was the lack of a good
Thai restaurant in Tucson. Well, I no longer have that complaint!
Vila Thai was created by a couple from Seattle
and they have brought the exquisite and spicy Thai flavors with
them! The food is classic Thai, with quality ingredients and beautiful
presentations. The Red Curry is the perfect blend
of sweet, savory and spicy while the Pad Thai is
perfectly cooked and spiced for any palate. The menu is extensive,
with a nice blend of Noodles, Curry and Seafood.
Prices are quite reasonable, especially for lunch when combos are
offered.
The location in Main Gate Square even reminds
me a little of Seattle, where the energy is lively due to the foot
traffic and the variety of dining, shopping and spots to sit and
people watch. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual, yet there
is an elegance to the drapery and the vibrant colors. Patio dining
is available as well when the weather is nice. A full bar is available,
with a nice variety of signature drinks. Wine tastings and happy
hour menus are also offered. The only difficult thing about Vila
Thai is that its tucked away upstairs, but once you find it I know
you’ll agree that it was worth the search.
